September is Kinship Care Month

Here in NY we are celebrating our 7th annual Kinship Care Month – a time to reflect on the sacrifice of kinship caregivers and to celebrate them for the work they do to raise children. NY acknowledges Kinship Care Month by passing a Resolution in the Assembly and Senate, something the Coalition pushes for each year. The Governor also issues a proclamation each year, and we thank him and OCFS for their work and partnership to ensure this happens every year as well. Below are copies of this year’s resolution.

We are celebrating kinship care on September 16th from 11:00 – 1:30 via Zoom Webinar. Dr. Joseph Crumbley is our keynote speaker, and the Office of Mental Health and Office of Addiction Services and Supports will be presenting. We also will be acknowledging several caregivers and professionals with an award ceremony.

If you would like to join the webinar on September 16th from 11:00 am – 1:30 pm you can register by clicking HERE.
